An Advocate’s Guide #2

This Guide is addressed to SRHR advocates and seeks to facilitate advocacy to ensure that what has been achieved on paper translates into action on the ground, through monitoring progress on gender equality and SRHR and holding governments accountable. The Guide is divided into two parts. The introductory section provides a brief overview of the feminist struggle for getting SRHR on to the global agenda up to the point of the SDGs and makes suggestions for how SRHR advocates can use this manual to engage with country-level monitoring and holding governments accountable. Part two is the core of the Guide. Following a brief introduction to indicators and how they may be modified to capture gender and social equity dimensions, it elaborates on each of 21 indicators related to Goals 3 (14 indicators) and Goal 5 (7 indicators).
